My name is Youngmin Eom. I am currently a senior pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Orange County located in the city of Westminster. I was born in Seoul, Korea in 1956. I came to America 30 years ago as a student. I had my theological training in the Westminster Theological Seminary in California. I have started serving FPCOC even before my ordination and continue on ever since my church consists in mostly Korean-American immigrants. They came to America with great American dreams. But life in America isn’t always what they have expected. They suffer. They despair. Sometimes, they move back to Korea. The challenging circumstances often make people come to trust in the Lord more. Therein lies my job and my responsibility. I try to comfort and encourage them with the gospel message. By God’s grace the church has been very strong and steady even though it did not grow dramatically. We have sent six families for missions around the world such as China, India, Peru, Cambodia and South Africa. We have recently finished the building project called Vision Center for the future generations. In the new building, we will not only have the worship but also we will start preschool with seven classrooms and after school programs. God is doing a great work in us. We hope for even greater work. I love the church and the ministry. I hope I can finish it well.
