During a thirty-one year career with Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) Bill held increasing leadership and executive management positions until his retirement as vice president in 2002. Highlights of his career include completing multi-million dollar power plant construction projects on schedule and under budget.
As project manager of FPL’s Martin Combined Cycle Power Plant, Bill and his team deployed a shared values approach that completed the $665 million project $191 million (28%) under budget, on schedule, with operating capacity 12% better than design, and operating efficiency 5% better than design.
Prior to joining FPL, Bill served five years as an officer on a nuclear submarine. He is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy Class of 1965, holds an MBA Degree from the University of Miami, and attended Harvard’s Program for Management Development.
After retiring from FPL, Bill consulted with Nevada Power and was an adjunct professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University’s MacArthur School of Leadership. In 2012 he published The Power of the Kingdom, an inspirational non-fiction book that deals with Christian spiritual growth.
During 2013 and 2014, Bill shared Global Priority Solutions leadership principles with inmates at the Okeechobee Correctional Institution in Florida.
Bill has been married to his wife, Judy, for forty-nine years. They have four children and eleven grandchildren. Bill enjoys reading, swimming and family activities.
